These women are named Del Martin,(right)87, and Phyllis Lyon, (left)84. They've been together for over five decades.
I know a lot of people don't agree with gay marriage, I know a few homos (who are my friends!) even who don't like the idea. However, I think that everyone should have an equal opportunity at happiness. If marriage would make someone happy, like some people do dream of their perfect wedding (gay or not), then they should be allowed to have that.
Marriage today isn't even usually about the spiritual connection that ties the two together and to God or whatever. I guess it's kind of a religious philosophy, but are there two kinds of marriage? One where you stand in front of God and a priest or whomever and blah blah, and another where it's just a civil service. Maybe I'm just babbling. Who knows.
Ugh. I'm not going into this any further. Who knows where my blog post will end up... or what topic it will be by the end of my rant.
