realizations...

I realize from my last post that it has almost been another year since my last post.

It's such a shame that something so much as Waffle House can keep me from doing something daily that I should be doing.

However, mostly what I would be writing woud be the same thing every day. Monotonous activities that would bore even the most exictable of children. Le sigh.

I've come to the conclusion that I'm unhappy with my present life, which is why I must be accepted to MUW. A change of scenery is long overdue. Also, I need like-minded folks.

as the waffle burns.....

I've been thinking a lot about life recently. And a lot about death.

Death is unexpected even when you know it's coming. You're just never ready for it to happen. The person who had always been there, somewhere, is now gone. It's a strange feeling.

Then you begin to think of the deaths of those who are closest to you and how it will effect you, because you know those who are closest to you are going to die probably sooner than you are. Unless there is a freak accident. (But we all know that Big Mama would take care of Buster if anything ever happened to me.)

I recently won 1st place in a writing contest for MGCCC, short story catergory. I get to read an exerpt from my story and receieve an award. I'm very excited about it all.

I've been forcing all my regular customers at work to read my story. They all ask to read the story, and complain when someone else has read the story and they haven't even been ASKED to read the story. It's sometimes shocking just how much your attention matters to some people. I mean that in a good way. Customer satisfaction, I guess. Working at Waffle House during 2nd shift, 85% of your customers are going to be regulars. Pretty much. Getting to know your customers just happens.

I can't decide if I want to post a copy of my (award-winning) story on my blog or not. Considering i haven't really posted on this thing in ages, I'm not sure what good it would do. I'm sure I've lost my readers. If I had any to begin with.

Perhaps a new era is in the making.

I have been working on a lot of new stories.

Who knows.
