these are the days of our lives

L and I went swimming today. We brought Buster, my sister and her friend Katie.

L's reading The Carlyles! Haha!

Buster went swimming too!! He's so adorable:

Here are some pictures of me and L. We were hanging out last night and we took some pictures. Some are stranger than others.

Needless to say, we've been having a good time. Tomorrow, we're planning on laying out, going to Wal-Mart, making some clay figures, pendants or maybe even some other kinds of pottery. We'll see soon enough. L's mom set up a "workshop" for us in their shed. Her step-dad is a pottery teacher and I think they built the shed as a workspace for him. D&S. What an interesting couple. And I'm not talking about Dan and Serena.

all's well that ends well

Sometimes I wonder if stubbornness is automatically every character's "character flaw" if that character is on a television show. Especially dramas. You find a lot of stubborn characters in dramas. Mostly the stubborn characters are the main ones, the ones with something challenging them in some way. Even Veronica Mars was stubborn... to an extent.
I'm just thinking about this because I'm watching Lost (of course) and almost every character is stubborn in one way or another. By season 3, these people have been on the island for almost 100 days. So it's been a long time and a lot of weird things have happened. But they still don't believe that they're on a mystical, magical-ish island. It's like they just. don't. believe. it.

Ugh, John Locke is being faced with such a difficult life-changing-decision-making situation ahead of him. But currently, he's fighting a polar bear.

Tomorrow, I finally see L. I'm very excited seeing as I finally get to give her her birthday present, The Carlyles

Tomorrow is also Memorial Day and we'll probably be at my grandmother's house for a good long time. I hope it's not going to be raining all day.

Scarlett Johansson just released an album of Tom Waitts covers. L told me to listen to her song "Falling Down" off the album. I listened. I want to burn my ears. I mean... it's painful to listen to. Any where I lay my head is the name of the album. I think.

no words

Rain, rain go away.
It's been raining constantly since I woke up hours ago. My sister is still home and is not going to school today.

I haven't spoken to X today.

I think I'm getting hungry again. Gah. I don't feel like doing anything. Even make lunch. :-/

Oh, so yes. I finished The Carlyles. It's pretty intoxicating once you get into it. I think the characters are hot, fresh and slightly original. The way they intertwined the characters without the others knowing about them was pretty awesome. You'll see once you read it, L. I still say my favorite triplet is Baby.

Anyways, I'm super bored now that I've finished that book. I could begin a new book, but I'm still reading two other books that I haven't finished yet. Lullaby and The Sun Also Rises

Maybe I should give X a call.

some food for thought about the carlyles

I'm already halfway through the newest edition to the written Gossip Girl series. It's very interesting, I suppose. The characters are all very familiar, but they have their own way about them. I think my favorite character so far is Baby Carlyle. These girls, and one boy, are surly getting into some trouble already. Avery, Baby and Owen Carlyle are rarely seen in the same chapters. However, there was one chapter where Baby and Avery had French class together, but I only just got done with the first day of school.
Why do they do that to us? Write these books and wait like 6 months until the next one is released? They could make some serious bank if they put out more spin offs and whatnot. It's a good plan. They could have books released every 3 months instead, or even once a month if they had enough spin offs or whatever.

middlesex much?

What is it about Greeks and birth deformations? Is it incest? Ha, I kid. Of course, this is from a novel I've read. Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides. Brilliant novel. I think I may re-read it again. For the 3rd time.
I've begun reading The Carlyles. It's going to take some getting used to.

Tomorrow, I'm going to be at X's house, sanding the doors of the house so that we can paint them. This is going to be a lot of fun. It's supposed to be raining, but we'll see. I slept until 2pm today, so I didn't see much of the storming that happened earlier. But I did see the doppler radar and it looks like something is coming down here from North Carolina and all that area.

I really want to take some writing classes, but I can't do any such thing until I get back to a real university. I was thinking about taking a class online, but it might be too expensive. I will more than likely be elegable for the Pell Grant this year. Who knows what I can pull off with that. I think tuition at the junior college is less than a grand for a full-time student. But who knows how much it will be, since I haven't even signed up for classes yet. Or talked to people at the school. Maybe I should do some investigating next week about that.

My lord. There has been absolutely nothing to do these few days. It's been so humid and whatnot. It's only the Spring, who knows how hot it will be by July.

I didn't get to re-arranging my room today. Seeing as I slept until 2 and then did all the house work I had to do. I really need to find a job, or something. Something part-time.

some gossip talk

Ok, so I just finished the last Gossip Girl before The Carlyles. I have to say, that was an ending I wasn't expecting. Who knew Nate was going to sail off into the sunset without saying goodbye?
I knew no matter what, that Serena and Blair would be BFF after Nate. Dan and his wanna-be Kerouac-esqueness or whatever he wants to be. We all know Jenny goes to Waverly Academy next year, with the start of the It Girl series.

Anyway... I don't know what I'm going to do without Serena, Blair, Nate, Dan, Jenny and Vanessa. Even Rufus, Dan and Jenny's father, was amusing. Not exactly the same as the Rufus Humphrey on the sitcom, but maybe it's better that way. There are a lot of things that are different from the book series. Especially the relationships.
  • Blair and Chuck (they never dated in the series, I don't think)
  • Rufus and Lilly, Serena's mom (no parental contact in the books except for the upper east sider parents)
  • Nate and Vanessa (they never dated in the series)
  • Serena and Dan (they don't stay together and fall in love in the books)
  • Jenny and Asher (who was created strictly for the show)
  • Dan and Georgina (she actually dates Nate in the book series and never meets Dan. wasn't very good friends with Serena at Hanover.)
Tomorrow, I will begin reading either The Carlyles or Anna Karenina. Who knows, maybe a little of both? Anna Karenina is sooooooooo long. I wish I had a more recent copy of Madame Bovary. It would also help if it were paperback. I'm not a big fan of hard back books.

So many books to return to the library. I wish it wasn't going to be raining. Poo. It's all a bunch of poo.

yuck it up, fancy pants

I've been thinking about high school a lot recently. Mainly because I've seen a lot of people I used to go to high school with. These people weren't from my grad class, but it's not a big deal. There were years where I wasn't a senior. One year, in particular, I almost got a teacher fired. (Whoops.)
X and I hung out with T today. It's been a pretty good day. No laying out today, even though it didn't rain. But it's supposed to rain tomorrow which sucks. :( I hope X's dad gets the ball on the roll about the painting job X and I have ahead of us.

I haven't read much into The Carlyles. I want to finish the last Gossip Girl novel, don't you forget about me, first, which I'm very close to doing.

I really want to re-arrange my room. Tomorrow it's going to rain, so I'll have the free time to do so, I'm sure. Ugh, I have to go to the library tomorrow. Or maybe I won't have to if R comes down here and then I can have him drop them off on his way home. That would be ideal. Maybe I can get him to help me do some heavy lifting here in my room.

I think I'm going to re-read The Secret History, written by Donna Tartt. I haven't read her other story, which I own but can't recall the name of.

I really enjoy green tea.

Rain makes me want to sleep in, but I can't do that tomorrow. :( I have laundry to finish, plus I'm sure I'll have dishes to do or something. X is coming over so we can watch some Gossip Girl episodes.

I also wish that it wouldn't rain so much this week. I'm not sure what the weather is going to be like, but I'm hoping it doesn't last too long. According to weather.com, it's going to rain until Friday, but Saturday and Sunday are going to be sunny and partly cloudy. Monday and Thursday are gonna be sunny, Tuesday will be partly cloudy, and Wednesday and Friday will be thunderstorms. More rain. Super bummer.

I've been re-watching Veronica Mars season 3 until I have to return it. I don't have anything else to watch until I can get Lost season 3. I also have Desperate Housewives season 1 on hold, but who knows when I'll be getting that. It's quite popular. I've never watched it, so I'm going to give it a chance.

I wish the library here had the Buffy series on DVD.

i don't know what to say

I've been doing a lot of things today. Kind of, I guess....
I hung out with T, R, and my sister for a while today. It was a good time. I played Yahtzee with my dad before R showed up at my house.

I'm watching Lost Season 2. I've also gotten myself caught up on Season 4 of Lost, which has been getting crazier by the episode. Who's alive? Who isn't alive? Who's real? Who isn't? Who is going to make a new appearance that we didn't expect to happen? OMG CHRISTIAN! If you don't know who Christian is.... he's the father of two main characters on Lost. I mean, those are the kinds of questions that are being asked this season. Although they're supposed to talk about the four toed statue that is on the shore of the island. And the Temple is supposed to be revealed.

Lost makes me all kinds of insane. Like... I can't wait until I know what everything means because it really is kinda making me upset. Can you really expect the audience to really keep wanting to know what happens episode after episode.....? I mean, obviously, and it's working because I keep wanting to know more and more and every episode a little bit more is revealed. Just enough to keep your interest sparked. And then you still want to watch next week. And then the week after that. Then their ratings go up and blah blah blah. Who gives a crap.

Whatever.

I drove around Front Beach a lot, which was fun. Well, it was more of downtown Ocean Springs, but it was still fun. I was with my sister and her friend, but we picked up the pizza that we had for dinner and it was great. I don't know. I love cheese pizza.

I can't wait till I can move far away from the south and all it's republican-ness. A person can't even dress out of some sort of code and not be judged. And I don't judge people. It's just not something we have the control over. We can't control how people want to live their lives, so we just have to accept who people are, no matter what the fuck they like or whatever.

I don't know .... I got a fragrance thing from Bath and Body Works that plugs into the wall. My mom bought it for me, and I thank her for it. Although my room doesn't smell BAD, it smells like stale smoke and whatnot. A little like dog, but that's the Buster's fault. With the new plug in thing, it makes the room a more fragrant place. The fragrance isn't very hardcore either. Like, it's lightly covering my room, with scents like lavender and wildflowers, but subtle.

It's nice.

I didn't know that the Edgewater Mall had a Wet Seal, and it was very exciting to go in and find that there was a massive sale going on. I bought a lot of clothes, and I'm pretty excited. I got this one dress that reminds me of something that maybe Serena van der Woodsen would wear in NYC. It's a pretty dress. It's yellow and kind of tunic-esque, but it's long, I guess knee-length.

Whatever. It's just a dress.

Anyway, I also got these cute shoes that are like mary janes, but they have a slight heel, and the name of them, the designer I guess, is Sarah Jayne. So it's cute how they're mary jane-esque shoes, with a heel, but they have a different name. Forgive me. I had two or three beers this evening.

Either way, I love Wet Seal. I got a discount card from them, and I can't wait until I get a job so I can start buying super sweet clothes at Wet Seal. Maggie, my roommate from long ago, used to buy clothes online from Wet Seal, and I would always kind of like what she got, but I was also jealous because she was a spoiled bitch who got whatever she wanted. But I'm not going to get into that. It's a long story, but I'll kick her ass if she ever tries to fuck something up for me again.

I think the scent that's coming from the plug in I got from Bath and Body Works is called Moonlight Path.

I didn't do any reading today. Wait, I lied. I read some of a Gossip Girl book. The next one in the series I need to finish first before I'll read The Carlyles

I think Shannon is about to get shot on Lost. This is a very sad part of the series, because Sayid is in love with her, and it's very sad. Sad, sad, sad. :'(

Sayid just told Shannon that he loves her. Except for Sayid is supposed to be in love with some girl named Nadia he's been looking for for over 8 years. Now Shannon is running towards Walt in the forest. And a gun shot went off. Shannon has been shot. I knew this was coming. Poor Shannon. She was one of my favorite characters from the first few series'. I didn't like Michael until I re-watched the first season for the second time.

Anyway, it's like 3 something in the morning and I have a birthday party to go to tomorrow around noon, and I will really want to sleep my ass off, but I can do no such thing. I think T said she was going to come with me. I really hope she does, or else I'm going to have to bring a book.

Ugh, yeah yeah. Whatev.
