sookie is MINE

I finished Dead Until Dark this evening, and I have to say, I'm really impressed with several things. One, how HBO took one almost 400-page book and turned it into a 12 episode season. Another thing is how Charlaine Harris can weave a story, and her imagination! I'm sure I could have come up with something similar, had I the thought process she had.

I also purchased the second novel, Living Dead in Dallas, today. It starts out like the HBO season ended - with a dead body in Andy Bellefleur's back seat. Now, I'm really sad this person is actually dead, because I really, really liked him. In the show he's a much more prominent character, but in the books, he seems more of a background character.

I'm also a little curious why in the books there's no Tara, and she's only been mentioned once, and not by name. Tara was Lafayette's cousin (Lafayette being the dead body in the backseat). Very unfortunate stuff, the death of Lafayette. I wonder if this book will be the premise of the second season. They did embellish a lot in the first season, while going along with the first book, but it worked out well in the end. But Tara is supposed to be Sookie's best friend. Sookie had no friends in Dead Until Dark, which is weird, since Sookie had lived in Bon Temps her whole life. Arlene couldn't have been her only friend.

So many questions, so little time. I wish Charlaine would continue to write the Sookie Stackhouse books, but I think she's done with them. Alas.

sometimes my arms bend back

I'm watching Twin Peaks. I don't remember the first time I watched it, but this is very crazy. But I expect no less from David Lynch.

The season finale of True Blood was extremely spectacular. I didn't expect Bill to just go into the sun like that. I admit, I started the season thinking that Sam Merlotte was the killer, but I was wrong... and Rene - of all people - was the killer. I guess it's always like that.

Now I just have to read the books to see what HBO added into the plots and what they had taken away. I took a peek into the third book of the Sookie Stackhouse novel series, and it doesn't have a lot of the show's character names. Strange. We'll see how it goes when I get the first book.

Well, Thanksgiving is in a few days, which I'm 'thankful' for; the food, the friends and the time away from school. I'm not going to have that much time away from school. I have a paper to write for World Civ 1. I haven't even read the article I'm supposed to write the response for.

I need to also finish reading Roman Fever, by Edith Wharton for World Lit 2. I have to write Reader Responses for that and Babylon, Revisited by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I have ejoyed the both of them, but I'm just not into the whole Modern Realism thing, I guess.

Tomorrow is the last day of school for me until the holiday. I'm not looking forward to taking notes tomorrow. There's probably going to be a lot of notes. Ugh. Apparently, we're going to have a test in World Civ 2 the Tuesday I return from the holiday. So, that means I'll have a test to study for AND that paper to write. It's a 2 page, double-spaced paper, so it will be quite easy to dispose of. Sheesh, I have two papers to write, but the second one isn't due until the week after the week after the holiday.

My computer is fixed, hopefully completely... I think I still need a new battery though. My mother left a note on the table saying that I need to make my "wish list." This is going to be a little difficult trying to figure out the most important things I'm going to want for the giving holiday.

i really want some sushi

My male friends M and K have been talking about sushi for a while and now it's gotten me wanting some rice and fish goodness.

I still haven't been called in for jury duty. It's almost the middle of the month, right? So, I really wish they would call me in already. We drove by the federal court house in Gulfport yesterday. It's a pretty intimidating building. Many stories. Quite looming and ominous.... It should be fun. Metal detectors and men wielding firearms. And possibly wearing bullet proof vests. Or at least that's how I imagine it.

I've been watching Grey's Anatomy online. On this website K introduced me to. It's called Surf the Channel. Check it out. Although, some of the movies on there are a bit sketchy - as in probably illegal in some form or fashion. But who cares? You aren't downloading the movies, they're been broadcast from another website, technically.

I think K put The Simpsons Movie on. It's already on HBO or whatever now?

Buster had a bath today and he smells quite wonderful.

I wish something good would come on the television. I checked out all those DVD's and I should be watching them, but I don't want to be rude and kick K off the TV and into the living room just yet. MTV2 isn't my favorite station. Like at all. However, buster is looking quite beautiful. I think it's MTV's Cribs.

Superbad was on last night, and I wish I had watched it, but something important came up and I had to leave the house. I should find out when it comes on next and set it to Auto-tune. I love Michael Cera.
